LEARN TO SURF WHILE IN LOS CABOS
Mike Doyle is a name most surfers out there already know, afterall, he's somewhat of an institution in the sport, especially here in Los Cabos. Mike was voted "Best Surfer" by Surfer Magazine way back in 1965 and 1966 – he even earned the nickname "Ironman" as he often competed in surfing, tandem and paddle races all on the same day usually winning at least two of the three events. Mike also won the coveted Duke Kahanamoku Surfing Contest at Sunset Beach in Hawaii in 1968.
Fast forward to today and Mike is still found on his board surfing somewhere in the world although most of his time is spent in sunny Cabo San Lucas where he owns and operates the Mike Doyle Surf School at famous Cabo Surf Hotel. He's an easy going dude who just loves to teach others how to surf and is happiest when he's turned another "let me try it" person into a surfing addict. Learn more about Mike and his surfing programs by visiting him online. In the meantime, get to know a bit about Mike and learning how to surf in the video below.
GREEN ZEBRA ADVENTURES IN CABO SAN LUCAS Okay, ready for the ride of your life? Don't let the name Green Zebra Adventures fool you.... you won't be riding a Green Zebra, but you will be riding what's called a Tomcar. So you say, what the heck is a Tomcar? They're a really durable yet forgiving machine that can bounce over rocks, climb steep trails, kick up rooster-tails of desert dirt and sand and pretty much plant an ear-to-ear grin on your face every minute you're behind the wheel! Tomcars are rugged... they feature a roll-cage and frame welded together to create a safe and sturdy platform for offroading. Four-point, racing-type safety belts keep you in the seat while four wheel independent suspension takes the beating that offroad terrain throws your way instead of you taking the brunt of it. Watch the video above to see what all the excitement is about... and it's new! They just started in Cabo in April of 2009.
DESERT TOURS, DOLPHINS, SAILING, ZIP LINES AND MORE
Cabo Adventures is one of several companies offering tours and activities in Cabo San Lucas. Pretty much anything you're looking to do you can arrange with them, but they have some things unique to the area. Their Desert Safari takes place in Mercedes Benz Unimog off-road vehicles... and they're like an army troop carrier on steroids. They carry about a dozen people on an adventure through desert, arroyos and up dirt roads into the agricultural and mountain areas.
If that's not your cup of tea, maybe you want to see what it's like to sail an America's Cup racing yacht. Cabo Adventures can arrange private tours, adventure weddings and other group events. Check out the video to the right to see what they're all about.
